🎶✨ **Farinelli in Mafra: A Night of Baroque Splendor with Historical Roots** ✨🎶

Last night, the stunning Mafra National Palace resonated with the grandeur of Baroque music during the unforgettable “Farinelli in Mafra” concert. This event brought to life the era of the legendary castrati Farinelli and Caffarelli, both of whom have significant historical connections to Portugal and Mafra.

Guided by the meticulous historical research of musicologist **Filipe de Sousa**, the concert honored Portugal’s rich musical heritage. Farinelli, who spent 22 years in the Spanish court under the protection of Maria Barbara de Braganza, and Caffarelli, invited to Lisbon by King Dom José, the son of Dom João V (the monarch of Mafra), were both celebrated through this unique performance.

Leading the night, the gifted **countertenor Luan Góes** took the stage, joined by the exceptional Brazilian pianist **João Elias Soares**. Together, they form the **Duo Off Barock**, merging Baroque music with modern interpretations, offering a fresh perspective on this timeless repertoire.
